Version 0.1 (friends preview draft) · Last updated 30 September 2026

Velocity works when runners can trust what they see. Keep your plans honest, respect the clubs, and look after yourself and the people running next to you.

1. Keep your RSVP honest

  • Only mark Going if you really plan to go.
  • If your plans change, switch to Not going so the totals stay accurate.
  • Remember that Going on Velocity doesn't sign you up with the club. Use their "Register here" link too.

2. Respect clubs and runners

  • Run clubs are mostly volunteer-led. Be kind to organisers and pacers.
  • No harassment, discrimination or unwanted contact, on or off the run.
  • Follow each club's own rules, routes and pace groups.

3. Run safe in the heat

  • From May to October, run early in the morning or after sunset.
  • Drink water before, during and after, and replace electrolytes on long runs.
  • Stop and find shade if you feel dizzy, sick or confused. These are signs of heat illness.
  • Wear reflective or bright kit at night, and tell someone where you're running.

4. Share the path

  • Give way to pedestrians on busy promenades like Kite Beach and JBR.
  • Keep to the running lane where there is one, and watch for cyclists.
  • Respect the venues that host runs, such as cafés, schools and tracks. Leave no litter behind.

5. Help keep info accurate

Spot a wrong time, a moved meeting point or a club that no longer runs? Email velocityapp971@gmail.com and we'll fix it.

6. If the guidelines are broken

We may remove RSVPs or suspend accounts that break these guidelines or our Terms of Use. To report a problem, email velocityapp971@gmail.com.
